Acupuncture is a safe and effective holistic health care system that's been in practice for over 5,000 years. As an acient healing art, it promotes the body's natural ability to heal, enhaces immunity, supports emotional and physical health, and improves overall well-being leading to optimal health.
How does it work?
Qi(pronouced "chee") is the life energy that flows through all living things. Health is incluenced by the overall balance of this energy. Qi moves through the body in pathways called meridians that flow like rivers throughout the body providing connections between organs and glands. When the flow of Qi is disrupted (similar to a dam obstructing the flow of a river), imbalances occur producing pain, dis-ease, and illness. Qi can be accessed through specific points along meridians using fine, sterile, disposable needles. The painless insertion of the needles acts as a conduit for manipulating the Qi to encourage it to flow properly, restoring balance in the body thereby alleviating illness. Acupuncture doesn't focus on simply the symptoms, but uses a variety of diagnostic tools (tongue assessment, pulse analysis, etc.) to get to the root of the issue treating the mind, body and spirit as a whole.
